It is a simple yet effective process to filter the molten polymer when extruded through a metal block – the spin pack. The different layers of metal powder (in spin pack) retain any unwanted residues in the polymer. Once the hot polymer is treated by the different layers of powder, the synthetic material is clean and passes through a final plate with various small holes (spinneret) converting the molten polymer into filaments. These filaments are then solidified by quenching in air, twisted and wound on to spools for further processing in Textile Industry.
